The Arkansas Soybean Association has announced the winners of the 2012 Go for the Green Yield Challenge, which is funded by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board. Winners were recognized at the annual meeting of the Arkansas Soybean Association in Brinkley on January 29th.
The board sponsors this yield challenge, which provides information and tools to Arkansas soybean producers, such as a look at how top yields are reached. This year’s contest had three first place winners in Early Season, Full Season and Double Crop divisions. Other winners and full productions information can be found in the reference section at the bottom of this page.
Martin Henry of Desha County was awarded $10,000 in the Early Season Production System division with 94.901 bushels/acre.
Blake Goodman of Corning (left) was awarded $10,000 in the Full Season division with 89.586 bushels/acre.
Tim Sisk of Wynne was awarded $7,500 in the Double Crop division with 78.593 bushels/acre.
The Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board also sponsors Race for 100, which will reward the first farmer to yield 100 bushels/acre with $50,000 from the soybean checkoff. To date, no Arkansas farmer has reached the 100 bushels/acre goal.
