Farm Living

Spend an entertaining and informative hour listening to P. Allen Smith discuss Arkansas farming with Jim Carroll, Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board Member, United Soybean Promotion Board Member and Arkansas soybean farmer from Monroe County.

“If you look back one hundred years or so, you will see that everyone has a connection to farming in their background,” says Jim Carroll.

They discuss the diverse education necessary to manage and operate a successful farm in today’s world. He also shares stories of his trips around the world and how we, in Arkansas, are helping to feed the world - now and in the future.

Out of 33 states that grow soybeans, Arkansas consistently ranks in the top 10. “Soybeans are used in so many things these days,” says Carroll, “people knew that soybeans had a high protein level for animal feed, but now they are developing new products that can be used in our everyday lives.” Did you know the Ford uses soy foam in every car they manufacture?
