2016 Corn, Grain, Sorghum and Soybean Producer Conference
Little Rock, Ark., December 23, 2015 – The Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board will host the 2016 Corn, Grain, Sorghum and Soybean Producer Conference at two locations this year. On Tuesday, January 5, the summit will be located at the NEA District Fair Grounds in Jonesboro, AR, and Thursday, January 7 at the Dumas Community Center in Dumas, AR. The summit will feature talks from university and industry professionals aimed at educating farmers on how to increase soybean crop yields. In addition to talks about weed control, Monsanto and Dow will share their latest products. There is no charge to attend and it is open to anyone with an interest in the Arkansas soybean industry.
At each event, the Soybean Promotion Board will be giving away two super bags of Arkansas Foundation soybean seeds, valued at over $2,000. The soybean seed is provided by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board in partnership with the Arkansas Seed Growers Association. Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the event begins at 8:30 a.m. The event is expected to conclude at 2:00 p.m.
The soybean board consists of soybean producers nominated by various producer organizations within Arkansas and appointed by the governor. Although board members contribute many hours of their time to administering the program, they serve without pay.
