The Mid-South Soybean Board (MSSB) was formed in 2009 to promote soybeans in all aspects, such as soybean products and research and development, along with the promotion and sharing of industry, market, producer and consumer information.

Created by soybean promotion boards in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas to coordinate soybean research in the four-state area, their goals are to eliminate duplicate research spending and develop and fund research of importance to their producers.

Soybean checkoff funds are used by the MSSB, along with funds provided by the United Soybean Board, the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board, the Louisiana Soybean & Grain Research Board, the Mississippi Soybean Promotion Board, the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council and the Texas Soybean Board.
