Monica Fuller Park Superintendent

Growing up, Monica Fuller was surrounded by the influence of parks and preservation. Her father served as a Park Superintendent at Lake Charles State Park, and his dedication left a lasting impression. Although she explored different paths in college, Monica eventually realized that her passion also lived where history, agriculture, and education meet.

“When you work for state parks you end up being really involved in the community as well as protecting the resource your park has and that is extremely valuable,” Fuller said.

Monica attended Lyon College, Harding University, and Northwestern University, gaining the skills and perspective that would prepare her for a dynamic career with Arkansas State Parks. Along the way, she collected unique experiences at parks around the state—all of which deepened her appreciation for community outreach and historical preservation.

Today, Monica serves as the Park Superintendent at the Plantation Agriculture Museum. Located in Scott, Arkansas, the museum tells the story of Arkansas’s farming history from 1836 through the mechanization era of World War II. In her role, Monica manages park operations, maintenance projects, and long-range planning, ensuring that the site remains a vibrant, educational resource for visitors of all ages.

“Every day in this job offers a new opportunity,” she said. “No two days are the same, and that’s what makes it exciting.”.

Monica is passionate about making agriculture and history relevant to younger generations, especially in a world increasingly shaped by technology. She sees education not just as a tool for preservation , but as a way to inspire future stewards of Arkansas’s agricultural legacy.

"I love helping people connect the past to their own lives today," Monica said. "It’s important that we remember where we come from and recognize the value of the land and the people who worked it.”.

Through her leadership, Monica Fuller continues her father's legacy serving Arkansas by protecting its stories, its landscapes, and its agricultural roots for generations to come.
