Royce “BJ” Rogers II
BJ Rogers grew up on a family farm growing several crops, including soybeans. He’s spent more than 30 years learning how to get the greatest yield for the land alongside his grandfather, Roy Rogers, who inspired his work ethic.
BJ graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in mechanical engineering. He continues to farm, and says it’s a challenge he likes to conquer each year. While mother nature can vary, BJ likes to see crops like soybeans thrive and try to make them better.
He is a first-year board member of the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board. He hopes to learn from the other board members and help farmers around the state.
Do you grow other crops besides soybeans: Rice, wheat, and hay.
Roles outside of ASPB: BJ is also a part of the National Rifle Association and National Wild Turkey Federation.
What should Arkansans know about the soybean industry: Not a lot of people know how many products have soy in them. I hope more Arkansans will learn about them.
Favorite soy product: Soybean oil. It’s the second most consumed vegetable oil in the world.
What is a goal you wish to accomplish as an ASPB board member: BJ wants to learn more about the board and how it functions to help farmers. He also hopes to meet each board member and help contribute to the mission of sustainability and profitability for soybean producers.
