Ingredients for the Frosting:
1/2 cup vegan butter, at room temperature
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2-3 tbsp unsweetened soy milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions for the Frosting:
In a large mixing bowl, beat the vegan butter until creamy.
Add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, and beat until combined.
Add the soy milk and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth and creamy.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup Guinness beer
1/2 cup unsweetened soy milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions for the Cake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, Guinness beer, soy milk, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch cake pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Place the cooled cake on a serving plate.
Spread the frosting evenly over the top of the cake.
