The Southern Gourmasian
The Kitchen|Fields Table Tour is wrapping up with its last feature restaurant partner: The Southern Gourmasian. Formerly a must-eat food truck around town, The Southern Gourmasian is now serving Arkansans at their Capitol Ave. location in downtown Little Rock. Here you will find executive chef Justin Patterson’s menu to include Asian cuisine with a southern twist.
The Southern Gourmasian will feature Justin’s soybean-inspired dish for the Kitchen|Fields Table Tour – Thai chicken burger with edamame hummus, pickled red onions and sweet potato chips – until the end of June.
Through this appetizing dish, Arkansans will be educated about where their food comes from and the impact they have on the soybean industry by consuming soy products, which in turn supports local soybean farmers.

As you can see, one of the most common soybean products, edamame, was used in preparing the hummus, but chicken also plays an important role in the soybean industry. Every year, chickens consume protein-rich animal feed, which is provided through soybean meal, because it contributes to their growth and healthy development.
“Being a restaurant partner in the Kitchen|Fields Table Tour allows us to educate Arkansans about the soybean industry through our feature dish. This program identifies with our culinary approach of incorporating Asian-inspired flavors into popular southern dishes, “said Justin Patterson, owner and executive chef of The Southern Gourmasian.
